PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Cook Children’s Medical Center – Prosper was the first greenfield satellite hospital for Cook Children’s. Two years after opening its doors, the facility needed additional
Med/Surg patient rooms. The fourth floor shell space was finished out to create an additional Med/Surg unit consisting of 24 patient rooms, two nurse stations, ancillary support spaces a new child life play room.

For the Prosper Fourth Floor Finish Out project, we commissioned the mechanical terminal units, and pressure monitor for critical care spaces. On the electrical systems the scope included lighting controls and circuit verification. All associated fire alarm initiation devices, horns and strobes were tested for functionality. Plumbing fixtures were tested for domestic hot water and reviewed for installation issues. Medical gas alarms were tested to ensure proper operation. Lastly, the nurse call system and pneumatic tube stations were exercised to ensure the owner furnished equipment met their requirements.
